Hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day yesterday. Ours was lovely and simple. Kyle had these beautiful flowers delivered. When I answered the door in my flannel PJ pants and one of Kyle’s old t-shirts, I’m pretty sure the delivery guy didn’t think I was deserving, but that’s OK. In my world, 10AM is still early and I don’t have to be dressed by then unless I’m going somewhere.
Later in the day, I decorated a bit for our Valentine’s feast. Thank goodness for the kids’ Valentine exchange on Friday or it would have been a very sparse room! But I told you, we kept it simple. Dinner was Kyle’s favorite, steak & potatoes & asparagus. And for dessert, we tried a little bit of heaven in a jar on our brownies. Read that label again “DARK CHOCOLATE SEA SALT CARAMEL SAUCE”. Are you kidding? I felt I showed remarkable restraint not to just eat it out of the jar with a spoon!
When we finally did get around to getting dressed, I asked Kade to pick out his clothes. This is what he picked. When I saw him so dressed up, I decided Berlin and I should to. And then they were just so cute, we had to do a little Valentine photo shoot.
This was the reaction when I suggested she lose the “bracelet”.
Then brother pretended to turn into a robot (you can tell because he holds out 3 fingers on each hand – I don’t know why that makes you a robot, but it does).
And then she remembered that he is the funniest robot brother in the whole world!
The best part of the day was, of course, time with my Valentine but I was having too much fun with him to grab the camera to prove it.
What?! I didn’t mean THAT! Get your mind out of the gutter…
