I’ve been in preschool research mode for the past few weeks and have had a ton of fun reading about all the different teaching styles, learning styles, education styles, etc.  It’s also launched me into all kinds of great preschool activities with Kade.  So far, I’m excelling at all of them! ;)   The best thing about all this has been Kade’s attitude.  He is so excited about learning and trying new things.  In fact, just about every day he wakes up from naptime and asks, “You have a surprise for me??”  One day the surprise was me putting blue painters tape down on the floor all throughout the house and then we walked around on it, sometimes tip-toeing, sometimes running, sometimes jumping, sometimes singing, sometimes backwards.  A couple of days we’ve played “the cutting game”, which means he gets to use his very own scissors and cut up an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of construction paper into hundreds of tiny pieces.  On this particular day, we taped a bunch of paper together and had him lay down on it.  I traced around his body and then we colored “Kade”.  He did the face and made sure to give him a belt and a watch.  He then turned the paper over and traced around his teddy bear and then colored that, too.  We still have “Paper Kade” taped up on the wall and in the mornings he will come out and give him a High-5 and say “Good Morning Kade!  How’s your day?”
